Green Purchasing

As a leader of Food to Go within the UK, we understand that sustainability does not start with us.

That is why our purchasing team have implemented a new policy called ‘Green Purchasing’ This aims to:

  • Reduce transportation costs

  • Bolster local economy

  • Promote a green image for our suppliers (this includes the basics such as recycling, reducing waste, energy efficiency and reducing the IT footprint. Then we have more in-depth concerns such as green marketing and communications, green business travel and green employee benefits)

  • Reduce generic waste

  • Reduce hazardous waste

  • Forge relationships with other local businesses

  • Choose environmentally friendly products

  • Use minimal packaging

  • Transport products via ground instead of air

Promoting Sustainable Supplier Quality Assurance

As a growing business in the UK, we maintain supplier quality assurance and ultimately reduce and eliminate the potential risk.

We require various certificates to ensure we are using quality & safe ingredients. Below is a selection of required certificates:

  • Acrylamide

  • Trans Fats

  • Allergens

  • GM

  • Nuts

  • Sustainably sourced palm oil

These are all verified through audits and accreditations from our Technical & Quality Assurance Teams.

We work with our suppliers on innovation, fair labour conditions, environmental stewardship and help our clients to establish a risk-based procurement practice. This is achieved by the following:

  • Map the supply chain

  • Communicate expectations

  • Baseline supplier performance

  • Performance improvement plan
